When i started
skateboarding and i was able to stand on the skateboard and i could
do an ollie the first trick i wanted to learn was a pop shove-it. A
pop shove-it is essentially when your skateboard does a 180 under
your feet. The pop shove-it is one of the most basic tricks you can
do so learning it doesn't really take much, you need to be able to
stand on your board and ride it comfortably and you need to be very
comfortable with your ollies. For foot placement when starting a pop
shove-it you are going to have your back foot at the end of your
board but hanging your toes off the front just a bit and your front
foot is going to be opposite to that as it will be hanging off the
back of your skateboard so your heel will be of a bit. When your feet
are in the right positions when preparing the pop shove-it bend down
like your going to do an ollie and just when your going to pop give
your back foot a little scoop back and the board will start turning
under you. When you see the grip tape come back around stomp your
feet down on the board and roll away. Your back fool is what is
spinning the board and your front foot is sort of like a guide for
your board. Your feet will do sort of a scissor kick but its mostly
in your back foot and when the board is spinning try and stay over
top of your board.
